Hi! Thanks for stopping by! So, this is my attempt to actually-possibly-maybe find a like-minded spirit to share in this journey. I've been avoiding having a full-on relationship for a while, with the excuse of being too busy, and then realized that on some level it would be wonderful having a partner. Thankfully, I do enjoy my own company, rarely feel lonely, and can't remember the last time I was bored. I actually envy that state of being in others a little bit. Over the years, I've realized that connecting deeply with someone, whether friends or lovers, is a priority that makes life worthwhile.
Ok, in a nutshell- passions: love cooking when I feel like cooking, avid reader (all but aching loin books), I feel my best at the beach on my boogie board or hiking somewhere, I can appreciate the cold, but Im definitely a warm weather girl, I love camping on a weekday when no one's around, I can't live without music and I appreciate all types except for some negative and whiny Country, I play a mean air guitar, and I'm very much a spiritual per more so than religious. Travel is high on my list of favorite things to do and I love road trips. I feel at home in Spanish-speaking countries, traveled to Europe a few times (once on my own & loved it), but still have a pretty extensive list of destinations yet to explore. I have many passions really, these are a few! You? What floats your boat?
Mi persona ideal:
I don't necessarily have a specific type of person in mind physically, but I definitely believe in chemistry between people. It's there or it isn't. I do have a strong attraction to Hispanic/Latino men - probably because I love soulful eyes and fiery passion. I'm generalizing, I know, but after living in Los Angeles for 18 years, I have a pretty good idea.
I prefer someone who is conscious about their general health and well-being and a sense of humor is a plus. Life itself is so ridiculous on so many levels that it helps to be able to laugh along the way. Oh, I've dabbled in stand-up comedy over the last few years...it was one of my biggest fears so I took the plunge. Hahaha!
I guess what Im looking for is not so much about external stuff, but who you are from the inside out. I am not a best-foot-forward type of person, keeping it real so if I am loved, it's for authentic me. I would like the same bravery in a partner. I also can respect someone else taking the reins when they want to. As a single Mom for 21 years, making every single decision on my own, I find it incredibly refreshing to sit in the passenger seat on occasion! I am a strong-minded woman but I can certainly appreciate (and desire) someone who stands for what they believe in and not be afraid to tell me no once in a while. It catches me off guard and I kinda like that.
Lastly, I am not very politically-minded, but ultra-conservatives probably would do better with someone other than me. Of that I'm certain. A couple of other things that probably wouldn't mesh: Im not a NASCAR fan (although I do like old, classic cars with muscle), bigotry really turns me off, persons who have to drink to have fun....no thanks, and if you've been described as fussy by your closest friends...um...maybe we're not meant for each other. Difficult or complex....THAT I can handle. : )
